Goostrey Art Studio has been on tour again!

Goostrey Art Studio has been on tour again! During half term, Debbie Goldsmith led free workshops at Crewe Heritage Centre. Adults and children created lanterns which will be used in a community parade through Crewe during the Christmas lights switch-on on 30th November. The workshops were part of Crewe Town Council’s Operation Autumn. The organisers offered a wide range of activities  - from crafts, trails, music and sports to celebrations of both Diwali and Hallowe’en.

Goostrey Art Studio operates from the wooden building at Goostrey station. It took many years of patient negotiation by FoGS to get the Victorian former ticket office and waiting room restored, and it’s wonderful that it is currently being used by a professional artist whose previous job was at Liverpool Tate. Currently Debbie Goldsmith is also vice-chair of FoGS. Our members are delighted that she is supporting our local community as well as creating her own paintings and rugs.

If anyone would like to help FoGS to maintain Goostrey station, please contact Craig Sidebotham on 29craimar@talktalk.net or 01477 544111. We look forward to welcoming new members to the team.
